We are seeking individuals from all walks of life who feel a commitment to the community and are interested to serve on our governing Board for a one year term, renewable for further one year terms.

Board members contribute time and energy for monthly board meetings/ committee meetings and other activities. We are looking for people who are drawn to the L’Arche Vision and with expertise in the following areas: fundraising, accounting and legal experience. Nominations Process

The Nomination process for becoming a L'Arche North Bay Board Member is fairly simple and straight-forward. Step 1: Once we receive your application you will be contacted by a member of the nominations committee who will arrange a time & date for us to meet with you. During the meeting we will learn more about you in order to determine your eligibility, why you are interested in serving on our Board, discuss the duties of the Board and it's members, discuss L'Arche' Mission & Identity, and to answer any questions you may ask. Step 2: You will be asked to visit one of our Homes or Day Program and to attend one or more Board meeting(s). Step 3: The Nominations Committee will collect all pertinent information and feedback and if the decision is affirmative, the candidate's name will be presented by the Committee for nomination to the Board of Directors at the Annual General Meeting or at the next regular Board meeting. Step 4: You are elected by the Board and scheduled for orientation and training per MCSS regulations. The following information will be required in order to proceed to Step 2. All information provided by you will be held in strict confidence. Please note: a non-criminal record check (with vulnerable sector) and personal reference check must be completed before you can be elected to the Board.
